WE NEED YOU! (9/15/14)

Attention Marching Band Families,

I know we have been asking for help quite a bit lately but without our great volunteers, we cannot offer the programs we are committed to for the benefit of the students.  Fall is an extremely busy time for all of us and Marching Band is no exception.  Please review the following areas we need help in and consider spending a few hours to make the work lighter for the volunteers who have spent countless hours already to keep this year going.  Many of the projects we were hoping to complete during band camp were put on hold so those of us affected by the flood could spend some time cleaning up from the damage while still attending to the needs of camp.  Because of this, we need to work harder in the next couple weeks to make sure everything is ready for competitions.

Props and equipment – we are looking for a group of people to help finish our props for the marching band show this Saturday, September 20th while the band is at minicamp.  If you can lend a hand between 9:00 AM and 2:00 PM please come up to Lamphere.  We will be working on the remainder of the props, painting and also touching up some of our equipment. Please wear clothes that can get dirty.

Pit and Prop Crew for competitions – we still need more people to help load and unload the trailers, move equipment to and from the fields and also help the band enter and exit the field for each of our away competitions.  Pit crews get to see each performance from the sideline with a front row seat!  If you can help with this, please sign up on the appropriate signup genius sheet or contact either Larry Miller or John Kosnak.  We will be holding a practice during the bands performance on September 20 before the Ice Cream Social.

Football Concessions – we still need volunteers to join us for some fun in the concession stand for all home games (Page, JV and Varsity).  Please sign up on the concessions sheet or contact Donna Kosnak if you can help.

LAMPHERE INVITATIONALWE ARE IN DESPERATE NEED OF HELP IN ALL AREAS for our event on October 4th.  If you haven’t signed up yet, please look at the signup sheets and find an area you will be most comfortable in.  WE ESPECIALLY NEED A COUPLE NURSES OR EMTS TO HELP OUT WITH FIRST AID for the day along with help in parking, concessions, outside sales, guides and other miscellaneous tasks.  We have 19 bands performing this year and are expecting a HUGE crowd.  Please sign up soon so we can confirm that we have all areas covered.

Out next meeting is Wednesday, September 17th at 7:00 PM in the Lamphere Choir Room.

Join us on Saturday, September 20 at 3:30 for the bands performance and ICE CREAM SOCIAL. The band will perform at the football stadium at 3:45 Sharp.

Our Invitational Volunteer’s meeting will be held on Wednesday, October 1 at 7:00 PM in the Lamphere Choir Room.  Please plan to attend if possible as we will be discussing the event proceedures.

Thank you in advance for all your help to make this a successful season!
